Yakuza: Like a Dragon Reveal and Day One Announcement
There was a huge third party live video today on inside xbox and we got a look at Yakuza: Like a Dragon. This is the going to be a day one launch title for Xbox Series X whcih is not bad at all. What is Yakuza: Like a Dragon though? I am glad you asked because we have a trailer for you!
Yakuza: Like a Dragon Reveal
This is actually a great selling point for some. A yakuza game being a launch title for next gen consoles is a big sell for me. It will also launch simultaneously on the Xbox One X, Windows 10 PC, PlayStation 4 and Steam. The day one edition of Yakuza: Like a Dragon is available for pre-order right now. At a later date the details of the Day One Edition will be revealed.
Okay, the other happy news is that Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be utilizing Xbox Series X Smart Delivery on release. This is great news because I am a great fan of this Smart Delivery technology that if you buy the game once it will update on the next gen system. Now keep in mind this is so far only between Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
“Ensuring players only have to buy the game once and will be able to play it on either Xbox One or Xbox Series X when both the console and that version of the game are available. Cross-save functionality between Xbox One and Xbox Series X is also supported, so no matter when players decide to upgrade, they never have to start over from rock bottom.”
I am excited and this will save gamers so much money!
How the Story Begins!
This is the underdog story of our new protagonist Ichiban Kasuga. He is a firm believer of fighting for what you believe in and that is admirable. This dude is just a low level grunt of a low ranking Yakuza family and he takes the fall for someone else crime. That is an honorable soldier, but things take a turn for the worst. Keep in mind he did this for his boss who was like a father to him Masumi Arakawa. After an 18 year long sentence he is finally free, but no welcome home party at all.
Sadly the crew that he sacrificed his freedom for no longer exist and the rest of the clan is being hunted down. Another big twist is that this only came about because of his clans leader Masumi Arakawa. OH DIP SON!! This is a huge betrayal for Ichiban and now he is out there seeking the truth no matter how many he has to beat down to find it.
This RPG is Gangster!
This is a new take from the series and I am going to quote something from the Sega PR team!
“Along with the all-new cast and setting, Yakuza: Like a Dragon introduces a new dynamic RPG combat system that takes the genre somewhere it’s never been before – present-day Japan. Ichiban is a diehard RPG fan, so to help him stay focused in fights, he imagines the battlefield as if he was living in one of his favorite games. In Yakuza: Like a Dragon, players will level up 19 different ‘Jobs’ far from traditional RPG fare – not Warriors or Mages, but Bodyguards and Musicians, with completely unique strengths and skills. Get ready to step into Ichiban’s shoes and crack some skulls in style!”
Being that this is a new character to the series with probably some of the same style of the series. What some of us are looking forward to is cameos of other characters and see if Ichiban can feel the shoes of this new Yakuza story.
The Underworld is your Playground
As expect Yakuza: Like a Dragon will have the same core elements of previous titles. There is a large experience when you play a Yakuza game that brings gamers back to the series.
Over 50 substories and a collection of never-before-seen minigames, as well as the return of fan-favorites like Karaoke and SEGA Arcades will ensure that players will enjoy their time in Yokohama to the fullest.
Yea this is a great part of the Yakuza series being that it is more than just playing a storyline. It is a full on experience that grants you a great tour of the busy side of Japan. You can play arcade games, have wonderful food, get into constant street fights and so much more. A fictional experience in beautiful Yokahama is a grand experience for any gamer.

Of the Arakawa Family,
A Tojo Clan subsidiary
A low-ranking member of a low-ranking family, Kasuga is asked by his patriarch and father-figure, Masumi Arakawa, to turn himself in for a murder committed by the family captain, Jo Sawashiro.
He is released after serving 18 years in prison, only to discover that the Tojo Clan has been eradicated from Kamurocho and in its place is the Omi Alliance of Kansai – and that Masumi Arakawa may be behind all of it. Seeking the truth, he heads to meet with his former patriarch.
All right that is all for now of this big reveal and details of Yakuza: Like a Dragon which will be coming out sometime in 2020. Stay tuned for our review of the upcoming title. – Beast Out –
