Werewolf the Apocalypse Slight Howl
Breakdown and Extra thought:
Pros: Werewolf the Apocalypse: Earthblood actually runs pretty smooth with no bugs or hiccups. There is potential to be a great game with seamless transitions during transformations. The story was a bit different from the normal, but there is a double edge sword in that statement. There is some beauty in the game that takes heed to the lore with the spirits and the Wyrm creatures which was spot on.
Cons: Everything else. To be clear there is no chapter select after you finish the game. There is no way to go to any manual save because the game automatically saves for you. They give you a choice system in dialogue but there are no consequences in any choice that you make. It doesn’t matter what you choose it is just for personal information. Personally, I expected more of a story-driven experience but it was all linear and throwaway. Also, I am hoping Cyanide adds “New Game+“. Definitely just felt like, “hey here is a werewolf game…” and that is it.
Werewolf the Apocalypse: Earthblood has the potential to be a great game and what I hope is the next game is an open-world RPG. The werewolf the apocalypse games are deeper than most people know. There are many classes of werewolves and Earthblood hasn’t even scratched the surface of this great story. Since I beat it in under 18 hours I would say it is rental if you can try it before you buy.
The verdict stands at a 3 out of 5 beastly paws. – Beast Out –
