Spyro’s Making a Comeback
Am I dreaming because I did an article not too long ago talking about what games today are lacking and that is decent platformers. I felt that there wasn’t enough imagination these days going on with video games in terms of the lack of the Jak and Daxter’s, Bubsy, Rocket Knight and many others. Recently we saw the return of Crash Bandicoot remastered and a new Bubsy game, but now it seems that Spyro wants to bring back some classic platforming as well.
This is the only difference this time around with the announcement of Spyro coming to the PS4 later this year. The fact that there are talks about it only being exclusive for a limited time, oh snap! Activision has their hands on the titles that are said to be on the remastered list which will be Spyro The Dragon, Ripto’s Rage and Year of the Dragon. In that expect the same amazing treatment that we enjoyed with the remastered Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. That will entitle the following:
- Improved Visuals
- Remastered Soundtrack
- Smoother Controls
Thats just the beginning and it will be done by the same people that worked on the original Vicarious Visions. That is always good news and we should expect some juicy directors cut content that was cut from the original game or so we hope. This is a nice opportunity to give us something fresh for old fans and for those that never played.
It is a good time for the release of a remastered Spyro game since it is the 20th Anniversary of the purple dragon and even though Skylanders was a great money grabbing game. It is nice to go back to the imagination of amazing platformers and with the success of Crash making its return, I hope this opens up the flood gates for developers to show their skills. Hell, even Ky is getting a remastered title. Who would you like to see make a return? Please leave a comment below and I hope to see you next time with new updates. – Beast Out –
