PlayStation Stars a new Loyalty Program
Good day gamers and welcome back to more beastly gaming news today PlayStation has done a blog featuring a new loyalty Program. This program sounds familiar as if most of you recall we had something where you earn points depending on how many trophies you acquire to use said points in order to pick up items in the PlayStation Shop. The points didn’t count for bronze only silver, gold, and Platinum trophies. So, what will we expect from this new program called PlayStation Stars?
PlayStation Stars Program:
Today, I’m pleased to reveal PlayStation Stars, a brand new loyalty program that celebrates you, the player, for being on this ever growing gaming journey with us. PlayStation Stars will be free to join when it launches later this year. Once you become a member, you’ll earn rewards by completing a variety of campaigns and activities. Our “Monthly Check-In” campaign simply requires you to play any game to receive a reward, while other campaigns require you to win tournaments, earn specific trophies, or even be the first player to platinum a blockbuster title in your local time zone.
Gaming is a competitive field no matter the game and people need to understand that the beauty of gaming is making your own special challenges. For example, nothing like doing a single-player race with another buddy to see who can defeat the boss faster. Or the other night where we challenge one another in defeating Diablos with no armor on. The creative way gamers go above and beyond is by adding challenges. With this, you can give gamers more to do and since the program is free, there is nothing to lose honestly.
All PlayStation Stars members will have opportunities to earn loyalty points. Points can be redeemed in a catalog that may include PSN wallet funds and select PlayStation Store products. As an additional benefit, PlayStation Plus members enrolled in PlayStation Stars automatically earn points for purchases on PlayStation Store.
So, I was right they are bringing it back just revamping it slightly. This was the points program from before, but now PlayStation wants to go all hands on deck and make custom challenges or be more involved. It was kind of bland before where they just say “you play and you earn” but it did not include bronze trophies. I earned a lot of points and bought a few PSN cards or video games.
Also, as part of PlayStation Stars, we are unveiling a new type of reward called “digital collectibles.” Collectibles are as diverse as our portfolio of products and franchises. They are digital representations of things that PlayStation fans enjoy, including figurines of beloved and iconic characters from games and other forms of entertainment, as well as cherished devices that tap into Sony’s history of innovation. There will always be a new collectible to earn, an ultra rare collectible to strive for, or something surprising to collect just for fun.
Personal Thoughts:
Bring back PlayStation Home, let’s be for real right now because after reading about the “Digital Collectibles” that was the most fun I had with PlayStation home. Having my own space which was this futuristic complex showed off the shelves of my achievements in games. It was a digital collection and it was cool going to other people’s houses and seeing their collections as well. We will just have to wait and see at the end of the year to check out this new program. Remember it is free to join and hopefully it works out.
Other than that, thanks for checking out our post, and please consider joining our mailing list by submitting your email in the subscription area on the right. – Beast Out –
