Nintendo Indie World Showcase April 2021
Good day gamers and I do mean good day since a new Indie World from Nintendo happened. The new indie games coming out is what I feel we need. Nothing like seeing indie developers go outside the box and use their imagination to bring something cool to the gaming world. Let’s go through a rundown of what we saw today.
Nintendo Indie World April 2021
The first game to be shown was Road 96 which is one of those story games with many paths. Coming from Digixart where young people hitchhike in many different paths and scenarios. So far clocking in at over a hundred thousand paths. This only means that it will have a hefty amount of replay value.
Any game that grants you a way to lead a story in different paths with deadly or pleasant outcomes has my interest. Road 96 is scheduled to drop on the Nintendo Switch later this year.
Ariel Knights Never Yield:
Who doesn’t like parkour but with a nice twist? Ariel Knights Never Yield is based in a futuristic Tokyo-style Detroit. It already has a sweet soundtrack from the trailer which you can check out below.
That’s right a 3D side scroller where you run, jump, and slide through the city. Thanks to the hero Wally. The best news is a demo will happen today which we will check out.
Last Stop/ Hindsight:
We are going through another story dealing with three different people going through one crazy adventure. This is pretty cool that the same company is working on two different games. Check it out.
Sidescrolling skateboard platformer where you are looking for the skate gods. It has some vibrant colors and you can either go for tricks or chill out and explore different paths.
This is definitely an interesting title coming out this winter.
A game where you have to wait 400 days, is interesting and it is in real-time. This new adventure game tasking you to play as a shade who is the last servant of a lost king. You will have to collect items and find ways to pass the time. See how that plays out and it will be available today.
There is no Game:
Now that is a clever title if I ever saw one. Okay, I get it, its a point-and-click comedy adventure with multiple games which one can only assume there is one big punchline at the end. That’s clever take a look at the trailer.
TMNT Shredders Revenge:
This is a game that needs no introduction, but I will give it one anyway. Not long ago some of us shell heads were talking about how there are not TMNT games available. The last one to come out was Mutants in Manhattan. However, these developers from Tribute Games and Dotemu decided to bring back a classic with modern style graphics.
TMNT Shredders Revenge is a side scroll beat’em up that takes notes from Turtles in Time and I am definitely getting this on the switch for sure. Hopefully, when this lockdown lifts I can meet up with my switch buddies and throw down.
A new JRPG with a time travel style of gameplay. You can make enemies younger that gives you an advantage of defeating them. Gives me a nice paper art style in a way, check it out for yourself.
GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon
I love me a good hack and slash rogue-like game. This looks like Strider in a way and I can’t wait to check it out. It will have over-the-top bosses and intense combat you will have to figure out the best tactic to take down this dark evil.
Expect GetsuFumaDen to drop next year.
AZTECH: Forgotten Gods:
What did I just watch? This is an Aztech version of God of War? If so then I am all in baby. Looking really good with a 3D open-world seems. I am hoping for a leveling up system giving it an Action RPG element. We shall see what happens when Aztech: Forgotten Gods drops in Fall 2021.
Skul: The Hero Slayer
Skul is a Rogue-Like action platformer that gives me Mega Man and Kid Chameleon vibes. You will have to traverse the world to try and save your king while using your swapping head’s ability for new powers. This is a cool concept that I am glad to see evolve and done properly. Be ready to get ahead this summer 2021.
