Nintendo Direct 2021 Rundown
What is going on gamers? Today was the day we got a new one-hour Nintendo Direct which is the first direct for 2021. I assumed it was only going to be a Smash bros reveal or something of that nature but that was just the tip of the direct iceberg. Let’s check it out!
Let the Run down begin!!
That’s right new sword characters enter the fight of Pyra and Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. These two new characters have a pretty cool fighting mechanic that can switch in and out between the two. Pyra uses flames while Mythra uses teleportation tactics. Now I am an old-school Xenogears fan, but never touched the Xenoblade series, however, this might make me dive into them. We shall see how these characters fully play out when they release. The dragon stage looks amazing, I have to give it to the developers in their stage designs. They do a damn good job. This update will go live in March.
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout on the Nintendo Switch:
if you want a silly good time in this competitive romp to make it to the crown. Then Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is the game for you. Being that it is on the Nintendo Switch means you can share the fun on the go with friends or online. Check it out which will be available this summer.
There is a Mystery afoot:
A new game is coming to the west with new localization in Famicom Detective Club. This will feature two episodes and available on May 14th.
My personal favorite with a new game trailer is Monster Hunter Rise which will release on March 26th, 2021. My fellow hunters and I checked out the beta demo in late January which gave us a taste of what will hunting will be like. Enjoy the trailer and check out my initial thoughts here.
Mario Gold Super Rush is a hole in one!
My cousin TheTrueTrickster did a live reaction stream for Nintendo Direct and yea we both were a bit hyped about this announcement. The new features for the Mario Golf Super Rush look incredibly fun and competitive with a nice rush mode for players. Seeing everyone on the field at once playing a game is going to be interesting.
DC Super Hero Girls makes the scene!
The cartoon is pretty good and seeing the video game in action actually makes me want to check it out. Looks fun and seems to play really well. We can see how that will go on June 4th.
Hey everyone Miitopia is making a comeback. I played this a lot on the 3DS and it was a fun RPG with your own personal Mii. I am happy this is returning.
Sigh, Animal Crossing Update:
I can’t hate on this game too much because honestly it has a strong fan following and it is pretty good and just relaxing and building a community. However, I just want to punch Tom Nook in his smug face. Either way, this new update will feature some Super Mario Bros. add-ons with working warp pipes and blocks. Let’s take a look.
Project: Triangle Strategy reveal
A new tactical RPG debuts today on the Nintendo Direct, I am not that much of a fan of tactical RPG’s but I will give the demo a try since it is available right now in the E-Shop. The game will be available on March 19th.
Ninja Gaiden Master Collection Hype
Enough is said about how awesome this is being announced and I am glad it is Razor’s edge and not the regular Ninja Gaiden 3. Even though this is being released on more than one console, I am definitely getting on Switch and PS5.
Yay, it’s Bravely Default II
A demo is available right now, but no official release date.
Ghost and Goblins Resurrection
be ready to fight the night on February 25th.
Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword HD
Now I see why some people were skeptical about Skyward Sword Remastered, but they are promising a better usage of the controllers. But you can use the controller if that feels comfortable to you. However, the best selling point is the new Joycons that will have the Sword on the right Joycon and the Shield on the left joycon. Not bad and it will be a nice collectible.
Then to end the Direct we have Splatoon 3
To truly end this there were some other game details like the physical copy of Hades coming out for the Switch. There was Star Wars Hunters which wasn’t worth showing because it was a minor teaser not showing anything. Also, Tales from the Borderlands and you also have Knockout City which looks like Fortnite but with Dodgeball. This was a pretty good Nintendo Direct and I enjoyed it. Please share your thoughts below. What are you looking forward to? – Beast Out –
