Gaming News: Dragon Ball FighterZ DLC & Smash Ultimate DLC Rundown
Despite all the snow storms and weather advisories we’ve been experiencing here on the east coast, things have been heating up on the FGC. Just because tournaments across the coast have been canceled due to impending heaps of snow, doesn’t mean players haven’t been staying on their A game. Especially in the DBZ Fight Z and Smash Ultimate departments. We may be a ways away from EVO and temperatures in the hundreds, but alas all that isn’t stopping all the new DLC to these games from dropping!
Piranha Plant Enters Smash Ultimate!
For those of you who signed up for the season pass to Smash Ultimate, that oh so un-love-able thorn in Mario’s side finally makes its way into the roaster. No not the Latiku, or the Chargin’ Chuck, or the Hammer Bro (although he does show his face in the form of an assist trophy), I’m talking about the Piranha Plant. You know that ugly red fellow with sharp teeth that just loves to bite Mario when he wakes em up. Well, it’s now playable in Smash. My first instinct is to choose Mario and immediately Smash its face in. But I did need to know what I was up against since it can do more than just bite this time around.
This little guy definitely has some tricks up its sleeve. Its “Poison Breath” Attack does 33% damage, the “Piranhacopter” is a solid very recovery. One of the best ones compared to ones like Ken, Ryu, Little Mac, Zero Suit Samus, Cloud, and all the other awful recoveries in the game. This thing can bounce back from being hit pretty far. The “Ptooie” better known as the spiked ball this thing loves to throw at Mario or Yoshi, is a decent projectile, and despite being in a pot or pipe (depending on which color players choose) this thing is actually fast. I was expecting some kind of hopping motion, but it scoots its way across the battlefield in seconds.
And for the Final Smash, the gigantic, hideous, and extremely annoying Petey Piranha is called into battle to take up half the screen; and hop around like a jack ass until he blows fire on the poor suckers who got caught in one of his 2 cages. In case you could not tell, I hate thing and I hate Petey even more. Maybe it’s the Mario Sunshine flashbacks, or all the times the Piranha has screwed me over in past Mario games. I sincerely enjoyed pounding its things face in. But all in all, this thing isn’t an opponent to take lightly but isn’t too much a force to be reckoned with for the time being.
Dragon Ball FighterZ have New Warriors for Season 2
As for DBZ Fighter Z, the big news here is that FighterZ Season Pass 2 is going to add some serious competition, to an already highly competitive, slightly broken game. Jiren andVIdel will be added along with… another Broly! That’s right! Broly will be joining Goku &Vegeta in the extra versions of characters department. And speaking of Goku&Vegeta, SSGSS Gogeta will also be joining the mix. Personally, I am not too crazy about Videl, would have preferred Zarbon. Players can purchase Pass 2 separately for $4.99 or just take the dive and get all characters for $24.00 upon release.
Personally, I have been glued to Smash Ultimate. Don’t get me wrong I was way into DBZ growing up, but I checked out at GT (like many others) only watching every now and then. Either way, the new DLC is sure to change things up in the tier department. So for those in the FGC planning on going to EVO, get those ready to test out the new DLC for Smash Ultimate and DBZ Fighter Z!
