The Darksiders series is coming full circle starting with War, Death and Fury and now seems we have a fourth warrior packing a different set of tools against the underworld. We will check out this fourth character Strife in this new trailer of Darksiders Genesis.
Strife in Darksiders Genesis
I am laughing right now because before I go deep into this game I need to share this parody to “Mama said knock you” by LL Cool J. The PR crew got jokes.
Don’t call it a comeback
Darksiders been here for years
They’re rocking their peers
Puttin’ gamers in fear…
Darksiders: Genesis gonna knock you out
THQ Nordic & Airship Syndicate said knock you out!
(Apologies to LL Cool J)
Hilarious, now one to the new Darksiders title!
“Darksiders Genesis kicks off a completely fresh direction for the Darksiders franchise, including a new gameplay style, the introduction of STRIFE – the fourth and final horseman – and so much more,” said Joe Madureira, co-creator of Darksiders and CEO of Airship Syndicate. “The team at Airship is very eager to get Darksiders Genesis into the hands of fans at next week’s E3 show in Los Angeles!”
First off, Strife looks like a badass with his dual gun action. Seems he is the little brother to the other 3 sounding like a cocky little character. Kudos to Joe Madureira on another great design. It seems that this fourth horseman is here to save humankind finally. We have been going through some mess in the last three titles.
Lucifer is in the crosshairs of this young warrior in this new take to the series. Even though it is more a top-down Diablo style game, it doesn’t lose the roots of the franchise. Darksiders Genesis will still have intense combat, exploration, puzzle-solving and of course, the Epic boss fights with so much more.
From the dawn of creation, the council has maintained the Balance across existence. Carrying out their orders are the Horsemen, Nephilim (powerful beings spawned from the unnatural union of angels and demons) who have pledged themselves to the Council and been granted immense power.
However, this power came at a tragic cost: the Horsemen were ordered to use their newfound strength to wipe out the rest of their kind. What followed was a bloody battle on Eden where the Horsemen, obeying the will of the Council, annihilated the Nephilim.
Now it seems like this time around there is co-op since the teaser that Strife is in where he clearly states, “Oh I am not alone!” Showing off War by his side kicking hell a new a**hole. The only thing I can think of is that War is an assist character which would still be cool.
Either way, Darksiders Genesis will be out sometime this year so check back as more details are developed especially at this years E3. – Beast Out –
