Capcom Home Arcade Reveal
How many of you had a plug and play tv games device? I personally never had one but they made great gifts. I remember giving a friend a Sega Genesis one which was just the 16-bit controller with build in games. It was innovative and cool. Now Capcom is giving out one that is made for two players and is fashioned like an arcade stick!
Capcom Home Arcade for the fans!
It all starts with the emblazoned logo going across a two player set up. This arcade stick was made for collectors with its competition class Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT sticks with 8-way GT-Y directional gates and OBSF buttons. Sounds a bit overkill for the choice of titles on the device and speaking of choices. 16 famous games that I assume were the most popular. I do have to admit seeing Aliens vs. Predator on there has me happy.
- Featuring a pair of competition class Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT sticks with 8-way GT-Y directional gates and OBSF buttons for the finest precision, response times and durability.
- The 16 pre-installed games are from the original Capcom CPS1 and CPS2 arcade ROMs with emulation provided by FB Alpha, delivering an authentic & accurate arcade experience exclusively for the Capcom Home Arcade.
- Break some high scores in single player, team up with a friend in co-op multiplayer or destroy them in a head-to-head battle. Then upload your best scores via the Capcom Home Arcade’s onboard WiFi to a Worldwide High Score Leaderboard to see how you match up against other players across the globe
It is not a bad novelty device it is made for collectors and it would look good in anyone’s room. Frankly speaking, it should be detachable so I can sit comfortably with it. Besides, there are a few single player games on there so it would be cumbersome to just try to sit with it, especially if you don’t have a table to set it on. But I digress, I won’t go into adding more games because I know about copyright issues. I am sure there will be specific few that will modify the device and add other capcom titles.
What is the Damage?
On the pre-order site in the UK, it will go for 222.99 euros which is $259.90 in the US! What in the Mega Man?! That is pricey for this collectors device with only 16 titles, but with all the bells and whistles mentioned that is under the hood. I guess it is justified. Right now no US release is mentioned, but you can pre-order on the website or on amazon.uk if interested.
The Capcom Home Arcade will be available on October 25th, 2019 just in time for the holidays. Please feel free to share your thoughts below on this device! – Beast Out –
