Capcom Combo Reveal of Street Fighter 6 and Capcom Fighting Collection
We waited 6 days for this reveal where many gamers in the community had their rumors, thoughts, speculations and theories. It was an exciting six days having all the chats on what could have been it? Personally my favorite was someone saying the font on the website is the Resident Evil font so it could be new DLC. I dismissed that for my own reasons. However let’s not sugarcoat it and get right into this.
We Waited for this reveal:
Street Fighter 6, the next evolution of the renowned Street Fighter™ series which has sold more than 47 million units since it charged onto the scene 35 years ago, is now in development. The teaser trailer showcased a glimpse of what’s to come with the future of Street Fighter™, as series mainstay Ryu locks horns with new challenger Luke. The 45th and final character in the Street Fighter™ V roster was teased to have a key role in the next Street Fighter project, which has now been confirmed.
Frankly speaking, since this is just a teaser we can’t say much about this yet. Now, can we share some hopes for this sequel? Sure we can. Most already have talked about what legacy you want in the new franchise. The first thought I had in mind was Sean, but an improved version of him. Also, bring out some of the kids from other fighters. Ken’s son or Guiles daughters could be fighters. Even Dhalsim has a kid which I mentioned all in a previous article.
Some are speculating that the new game will be a hyper realistic version of Street Fighter going by this title. What some of us personally do not want is what they did in Street Fighter 5 with that ridiculous choice of play to earn or pay to unlock. That is just me personally and also there is hope that this game comes out on the Xbox as well.
We are expecting more details this June so prepare to burn some muscle in the meantime.
Capcom Fighting Collection Next Up!
Oh yes, this is a huge deal right now because when Darkstalkers resurrection came out on the PS3 and Xbox 360. It didn’t do so well with fans, however this feels like their second chance. Let’s be real, there are many fans out there that want a return of Darkstalkers and honestly this might revitalize the franchise. Also seeing Cyberbots, Red Earth, Super Gem Fighters, and Puzzle Fighters is pretty good. There is also Super Street Fighter 2 which I think they could have put something else like power stone instead. We already have the 30th anniversary edition with all the other street fighter classics, but that’s just a personal feeling.
While the excitement for the next chapter in the Street Fighter saga builds, fans can kick off celebrating 35 years of Capcom fighting games with Capcom Fighting Collection, an anthology of 10 classic titles – including the full Darkstalkers™ series together for the first time ever outside of Japan. Each of the 10 titles in the collection has been revitalized with online multiplayer, enhanced features, and quality of life updates.
The Capcom Fighting Collection will feature rollback netcode, training mode, online ranked and casual combat. First time in a long time that these classics outside of Darkstalker’s will have online play.
Final take away:
It wasn’t the best thing to wait for because the reveal was underwhelming for the most part. I guess if there was more reveals it would have been worth the 6 day wait, but I am personally excited for the Fighting Collection. Capcom Fighting Collection will be released on June 24, 2022 for PlayStation® 4, Nintendo Switch™, Steam and Xbox One. The package will be available digitally on all platforms as well as physically in North America on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One at retail for MSRP $39.99.
As an added bonus there will be a special bundle coming out soon combining both Capcom Fighting Collection and Street Fighter 30th anniversary collection. That will launch digitally on all platforms for $59.99. – Beast Out –
