Borderlands 3 is Best in Show
Today’s live stream of the upcoming sequel to Gearbox Softwares long eccentric series has shown a lot of potential. Borderlands 3 is going to be a hard hitter when it drops this fall we got to see a lot to get any vault hunters anticipations high.
Borderlands 3 Story So Far!
You are a new vault hunter and part of the Crimson Raiders crew under Lilith. You are welcomed and all that jazz, but of course you have to deal with your enemies on Pandora which is this fanatic group called Children of the Vault. In the video, they showed you will have to team up with Lilith to take back the recruitment center and find a key. It is all to find many vaults as a hunter it is our duty.
Borderlands has always had that eccentric storyline and characters that I have always enjoyed. I was quite curious about what they will bring to the table.
First up, we need to talk about guns! Borderlands 3 gameplay was all about the different guns that you will have and discover. If you are a veteran player like myself you will have your personal favorites, but what makes each one unique is the special features. The Hyperion shotgun they showed in the video featuring an energy shield attachment will give you a proper advantage. Then gaining a pistol with an alternate firing option of mini-missiles made me gasp in excitement.
When it came to the vending machines, I love how the developers made sure to show off the new feature of the ammo machine. Before in any Borderlands, you could only buy individual ammo for each of your guns, but now there is an all purchase feature. That is pretty neat in my book and a nice convenience. Saves us a lot of time.
That Co-op Though
Its all about the co-op when it comes to any Borderlands game and it brought in some unique co-op adventures with friends. But how to improve on something that was pretty solid? Adding Instance Looting and co-op instances that’s how! Gamers, this is a good time to hear about instances within a co-op game and why do you ask? Because now in Borderlands 3 you can join a game and whatever loot drops will be to each individuals levels. This also goes with enemies where if I join your world the enemies will not jump to my level it will stick to whomever you join.
That is a good advantage when helping out a lower level teammate because we know how overwhelming situations can be on Pandora. I wonder though about the sharing of items and equipment. If I want to give my friend or co-op partner something of mine will it instance to their own level once they accept it? Or will it stay at my level?
When it comes to the Skill tree each Borderlands character has their own special quirks and so far we had different generations of Vault Hunters to play as. Brick will forever be my favorite character, but I had some fun with a few others throughout the years. This time around the developers dived deep into one particular hunter named Zane. The unique features he has is a Digi-Clone that will actually shoot real lethal rounds at enemies. The better part of this clone features a teleport system where you can switch places.
Zane will also have a drone that will either weaken enemies or throw grenades at them if you have the mod feature equipped. Not a bad character to dive into.
So Much to Look Forward to!
The Borderlands 3 reveal showed us so much that many other developers need to take note. It is all about showing your audience gameplay and how the game will work and the improvements that make it a true sequel. Also, the mention of no microtransactions is a huge plus in my book.
Right now you can pre-order Borderlands 3 by clicking the link here. Of course, you will have your choice between standard, Deluxe Edition, Super Deluxe and Collector’s Edition.
